Tash’s Chocolate Mousse

What to do when you’ve been eating so well – so mindfully – so healthfully – you’re feeling great, and then there’s just that niggling little chocolate craving kicking in?! Natasha’s whipped up another simple recipe to cover your chocolate craving AND keep you on track with your healthy, nourishing eating!

I always try to use the Superfoods brand as I know the source is natural and organic and I tried the recipe from one of the Rawlicious talks I went to.  Originally I was making some chocolate but got totally distracted and when I looked it was this mousse-like texture so I thought ok let me add some avo and make mousse then  🙈

So I halved the recipe.

The bit without avo, I froze to make truffles, and then the part with avo is what I made the mousse with 👍

Chocolate Mousse

3 x avocados (medium to large size)
1 cup cacao powder (can add another dash)
1/4 cup coconut oil
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup water

Mix all ingredients together in blender and voila 🙌

Remember that cacao is not immediately sweet to the palate, hence I have indicated to use 1 cup but depending on your taste you can add up to another 1/4 cup. You can also reduce or increase the amount of maple syrup to taste – go wild and enjoy yourself !

I usually add a sprinkle of crushed nuts and berries for a delectable dessert.

Oh – I almost forgot about the truffles…

Either with leftover mousse or with the same recipe minus the avos, mix all the ingredients as above, put it in ice trays and freeze. It turns into the most divine truffles 😋
