“The favorite part of the Bali trip was finding time to talk to myself.
I’ve realized that I need to do this more often and make time for me. It’s very easy to neglect yourself especially when you are the last on the food chain.
I’ve realized that if I feel better about myself, everyone benefits.
I’ve since made more time for me in terms of spoiling myself with getting my hair done or going for a facial. You’d be pleased to know that since our flight into Bali, I have not eaten meat. I have become so good at preparing fish and vegetarian dishes, although still trying to master tofu. I feel so healthy and love the fact that I, myself, have saved a few lives without even knowing it!
I’ve been listening to meditation while I drive, not ideal, but at least it’s quiet thinking time. So thank you. I needed that trip more than you know. And My husband can cope. So I will do this every year.”
“Dear Sharni. Unknown of what if actually entails, I got started reading your book at 7.30 last night and indeed it was a book that was unputdownable.
By this morning i completed reading your story. I thought to write to you just to let you know that I am so amazed with your courage and determination and to know you are such an inspiration. i am definitely going to pass in on to my friends and family to hear your voice and your story. You have given me hope and I want to share this with others. Thank you for sharing your story with us and we are so proud of you. I pray gods continued blessing in your life.”
“I have just finished your book and can not write all the words/feelings I would like to describe about this reading experience (as I would be writing all day:-) Thank you for sharing your story, we all have a story but you shared yours in a beautiful, open, innocent & helpful way. You are a wonderful inspiration to me. Ps I love your yoga class after a busy Monday working day, you have made it my best day of the working week “
“You are a true champion of spirit and an incredible example to us all. My favourite quote in your book is “…worrying about something is like praying for something that you don’t want.” I think it is profound. Sharni, your personal story helped give me the courage to finally do something that I really needed to do but for completely selfish reasons could never do before. So now, through action instead of worry, I’m going to try to live the things that I do want…even if there is a whole lot of figuring out of what those things are that has to happen first! Thank you.”
“Hi Sharni, Your wonderful Yoga sessions were an absolute high point of our holiday. We both feel you are such an amazing teacher as well as a lovely person, and felt completely enriched by each of your lessons. As we said, if you are ever in the UK, you would be most welcome to come and stay or visit at any time. Please keep in touch and thanks again. xxx
“Thanks again for a very valuable coaching session yesterday. It really had me thinking, and even changed my entire energy for the rest of the day from nervous to excited and empowered (4-5pm was my weekly skype with my boss). My energy was so totally different that I actually controlled the meeting, and it even ended earlier than usual.”
“What I loved most about our Eat Play Yoga Bali holiday…Doing my first ever headstand, cycling past incredibly beautiful rice-paddies, doing my first SUP, looking up at a table of ladies all beaming when I read a very positive and powerful message on a card – that support and celebration in that moment, and those facial expressions I’ll never forget. I think to sum it up, it was a positive way of pushing myself to achieve many firsts, physically and emotionally. Gave me my ‘power’ back.”
